Necro questions
I wanted to make a new necro cause.. they're hot.. and I was just wondering if Shatter Enchantment and the like can also be used on an allie. Combined with vengence I could sure have some fun with death magic. Is this kinda thing posssible? If that doesn't work, I was wondering if epidemic works with Hex type spells as well.

Ok, I'm not sure what you are talking about, but I'll try to help...
1) Shatter Enchantment is a Mesmer skill
2) Vengeance is a Monk skill
3) Epidemic is a Mesmer Skill
Given all this, you mention death magic; I am assuming that you are talking about a necro/mes or necro monk then? I wasn't sure. To answer questions:
Shatter Enchantment targets only enemies.
Epidemic only affects conditions, not hexes.

Dang it... are there any monk or necro spells that remove enchantments from all, or allies too? Or are there other spells that spread hexes instead of conditions? I thought I remembered Epidemic working with Conjure Phantasm.. I have a bad memory though.
Sorry I wasn't more clear, but yes, this will be a primary necro, and I was considering monk or mesmer as a secondary proffesion.

Enchantments are beneficial spells, you don't want to be removing them from allies. You might be talking about Hexes.
Necros have a couple of spells to remove Enchantments - from enemies though - Rend Enchantments is one, and the other is Desecrate Enchantments.
As for Hexes, Mesmers have that ability, in Inspired Hex. Plus others, too.
Epidemic - as mentioned above - spreads conditions (things like Crippled, Bleeding, Poison - the yellow bordered icons) from one enemy to other closeby ones. Necros can cast Chillblains on themselves, which makes guys who hit them poisoned, and then cast Epidemic to make everyone around that person get Poisoned, but that means you're surrounded and being beat on by a bunch of people... and I don't think that's where you wanna be, is it?

Um.. lol. I wanted something to remove enchantments from my allie, for one reason. If Vengence is ended before 30 seconds, they die again, and don't suffer a DP. This means I can animate a lot more than would be natural for any other necromancer. If only I could get the enchantment off...
Can I just like hold shift or something to use a spell like Rend Enchantments on my party member? *crosses fingers*
As for epidemic, I guess I won't be using that.. phooie.

If you want quick-dead allies, the best skill would probably be Unyielding Aura (monk). It's a maintained enchantment version of Resurrect - the moment you end it, that ally dies again.
However, Unyielding Aura is currently bugged and not working like its description says. Instead of being a maintained enchantment, you rez target player for 5 energy with a 3-second cast time, and they're 100% rezzed without the whole "target dies if you stop maintaining this spell" bit. So pretty much it's a super-fast, low-energy, 100% health Ressurrect spell where the only downside is a 45-second recharge time.
But once it's fixed (assuming the current functionality isn't intentional) you will be able to rez a dead ally in 3-seconds and immediately kill them again by turning off the maintained enchantment.
Oh, and it's not a Monk or Necro skill but I believe there's a Ranger ritual which removes all enchantments from all players within the huge AOE radius.

Yeah I saw that too, unfortunetely I can't be a Necro/Monk/Ranger, lol. Oh well, I guess my dreams of a huge army of animated corpses are at an end. What kind of necro builds do you guys use? I'm out of ideas.

If you want to be a minion master then N/Mo is probably your best bet with maxed death magic and 12 heal and whatever else in soul reaping. you'll want the heal so you're healing yourself while casting the likes of veratas sacrifice and blood of the master to heal your minions. Mind you minion master doesnt work very well at all in areas where there are large numbers of non-flesh mobs (some of the desert areas with armours and such are particularly bad)
